Cylinder - Cylinder assembly including a cylinder, piston, ram, seals. Piston diameter and oil pressure determine the force (ton).
Frame - The main structure of the press.
Stroke - Distance between bolster and ram in the upright position
Daylight - The vertical clearance from the top of the bolster to the underside of the ram.
Bolster - A plate mounted on the bed.
Throat(gap) - The distance from the centerline of the ram to the frame metal of the upright section.
Working Height - The distance from the floor to the top of the bolster.
Dwell - time ram maintained at a certain position.
Cushion - Positioned below the bolster and bed. Strip finished parts from the die.
Knockout - A device to strip the part from the die.
